5 Stars MXL V69 Mogami Edition Tube Microphone
I bought this after reading a review that compared it favorably to some very expensive ($10K+) mics. I don’t have a $10K+ mic to compare it to, but it is a definite step up from several very good $400 mics that I use for recording guitar, mandolin and vocals. It is a terrific value and a very very good mic.
5 Stars Excellent mic for the price!
This is a really good mic especially for the price. Be warned though that if you are looking for a mic without a lot of color, this is not the mic! After the warranty ran out on this mic, I sent it to Michael Joly of Oktavamod to have it modded and let me tell you it is amazing! I would say buy this mic, use it ’till the warranty runs out (or not) and then have it modded. The mod easily puts this mic in the realm of mics that are $1000s+ IMO.
