
I happen to love this mic. It’s not much to look at (although I actually think it looks cool) but it has a super flat response and is actually quite usable in many recording applications. It’s very similar to an Earthworks mic but a whole lot cheaper. Don’t let the Behringer name put you off…you’d be hard pressed to find another mic for $50 that you’ll be able to use as much.
Try pointing it directly at a drum kit from in front of the kit. Aim it directly at the trunk that connects the toms to the kick drum, and you’ll get a great ‘open sounding’ balanced drum kit with just 1 mic! Leave a comment and let me know how it goes!
