Behringer C 1 Studio Condenser Microphone

Behringer C 1 Studio Condenser Microphone

The BEHRINGER C-1 is a professional and super-affordable large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. It provides all the performance you’d expect in a top-notch professional condenser microphone: exceptionally flat frequency response, ultra low-noise transformerless FET input circuitry, and incredible audio transparency. With its high-quality transducer and gold-plated XLR output, the C-1 is very neutral-sounding and truly delivers on the promise of noise-free transmission. It also offers a phantom power LED indicator and a swivel stand mount. Whether miking acoustic or electric instruments or using it for vocals or drums, the BEHRINGER C-1 is an excellent choice for both live and studio applications.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star It doesn’t work Update, It works.
I plugged it into a mic preamp that works with a regular mic. The C-1 is not working at all. It makes noise but it does not transmit sound. The instructions are written in every language except English. Maybe there is an on off switch somewhere. It is best to avoid this one. It is too cheap to bother sending back.

Update: September 23, 2009. The mic does work. It was the cable that was bad. I will give it at least 4 stars but I am not able to change the rating after it is posted.

3 Stars Get’s the job done
This is a pretty solid mic for in home studio production. I’m a beginner and didn’t have a lot of money to spend so I bought this mic and it works well. However, due to my novice status in dealing with a studio condenser mic, I’m wondering if a higher quality mic may record at a higher volume. Yet all in all it is legit. Just starting out, this is the way to go.

5 Stars Great Microphone
For the money, this mic performs very well. It is very sensitive, I can hear my computer fans in the background with this mic. If you are going to use it for recording make sure you have a quiet room. I also put a pop filter on it. I’ve only had it a day, so I’ll see how it does in the long run.

5 Stars One Of The Best
I USE THIS MIC FOR AT HOME PURPOSES. I RECORD WITH BEHRINGER XENYX 1002 PREMIUM 10 INPUT MIXER.AND MY LAPTOP. PERFECT! ITS REALLY GREAT FOR A SMALL STUDIO..MAYBE FOR A BIGGER ONE TO??? BUT IT GOT DELIVERED FAST AND I COULDNT BE ANY HAPPIER WITH IT.NO LIE! FOR THIS PRICE YOU COULDNT BE IT! BUT JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A XLR PHANTOM POWER OUTPUT TO POWER THE MIC BECAUSE THE MIC NEEDS PHANTOM POWER.

5 Stars Good Enough for Me
I’ve been a guitar player for 25 years. However, this is the first time I’ve recorded my own vocals at home. I bought this mic to record a project at home and so far, so good. My voice is not great, but after a few takes and some Auto-tune, I think it sounds darn near passable. As far as frequency response and other mic jargon, I don’t know much about (guitar player, remember). I think it sounds and performs quite well. I’m recording into a FireWire Solo interface and there is no noise. Additionally, I am recording in a spare bedroom with no soundproofing, vocal isolation, bass traps or anything like that and it sounds good enough for me.
